Brandon Blommaert is an artist and animator residing in Montreal Quebec. Born and rised in Edmonton Alberta, he graduated from the Alberta College of Art and Design in 2005, where he studied in the Print Media program. While in College he discovered animation through the Quickdraw Animation Society. He quickly became obsessed with the art of moving images and has been involved in the creation of animated work since 2004. His enthusiasm led him to the creation of a festival devoted to the screening of short animated independent films by artists from around the world. The festival, Giant Incandescent Resonating Animation Festival is now the biggest animation festival in Western Canada. In 2008 Brandon relocated to Montreal to take part in the National Film Board of Canada's Hothouse program for young animators.

As an artist who is excited about sound and visuals alike his recent films are created in a pursuit of a synesthetic relationship between image and sound. His last abstract film e:e:e:e:e was selected as Arte TV's top 10 projects of the Wrong Bieniel (an online digital art festival) as well as revue24images.com critics choice for 2015's best short films.

Aside from Brandon's personal work he has collaborated with other artists or organisations such as the New York Times, Google Creative Labs/AATOAA, Redbull Music Academy/booooooo.com, the National Film Board, Jon Rafman Studios and others
